Figure skater Johnny Weir extols the virtues of his fur-filled closet in ... - Los Angeles Times (blog)

June 30, 2010 at 04:24 PM

"extols the virtues of his fur-filled closet"??? How you got that line out of this video is beyond me. So he likes fur. Surely you're not saying that we should measure his character based on that? Personally, I support his message of individuality and acceptance. And finding out about his charities is really quite easy: one phone call to his agent would have taken care of that. FYI, his main causes are HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention and breast cancer research, but he also works to create opportunities for children to do sports and exercise. Before you judge, check out the full package.

Tonya Harding: Former Olympic Ice skater Tonya Harding gets married again - Examiner.com

Tonya Harding

Former Olympic Ice skater Tonya Harding is best known for her alleged role in the assault of Massachusetts Olympic Ice Skater Nancy Kerrigan, but today there are reports out that she is married again.

Back In 1994, Nancy Kerrigan a favorite of New Englanders, including many Rhode Islanders, was practicing for the U.S Figure Skating championships. She was leaving the ice when a man assaulted her with a club. Forced to drop out of the competition, she recovered in time to compete for the U.S. at the Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway.

Shortly after Kerrigan's assailant had confessed and told police that he was part of a plot involving Harding, her bodyguard, and her husband Jeff Gillooly. Since Harding had not been formally charged with a crime, she was allowed to compete. She did not skate well, while Kerrigan turned in a nearly flawless performance, winning the silver medal.

Deputy Auditor Karen Updike tells the Columbian Newspaper that she issued a marriage license to 39-year-old Tonya Harding and 42-year-old Joseph Jens Price on June 23

Updike also tells the Columbian Newspaper that their records show the former Olympic Ice Skater Tonya Harding has married again. The auditor's office said it received the signed license back on Tuesday that showed the wedding had taken place.
